Rev. Dr. Paul G. Wilkinson, Sr. is a native of San Antonio, Texas, graduating from G.W. Brackenridge High School, studied at Wayland Baptist University, and San Antonio Theological College where he received an Honorary Doctor of Theology Degree. He is the second son born to the late Rev. P. S. Wilkinson, Jr., and the late Vivian L. Mitchell Wilkinson-Bouldin.
 
Pastor Paul accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of six at which time he was already aware that he would proclaim The Word of God. He was baptized at New Light Baptist Church, under the leadership of his paternal grandfather the late Rev. Dr. P. S. Wilkinson, Sr. In addition to accepting Christ, and being baptized at New Light Baptist Church, Pastor Paul was also blessed there as a baby, and married there as a young adult. The Lord has found favor in Pastor Paul, and through Divine Providence has allowed him to return to the Historic New Light Church Family as Senior Pastor. It is with much humility that he mounts the sacred desk where many great Carriers for the Precious Cargo of Calvary have stood and proclaimed the Kingship, and Lordship of Jesus the Christ.

Pastor Paul and Lady Angelia are the proud parents of Paul G. Wilkinson, Jr., Kerri P. Lang, and Robert E. Lang (son-n-law); and four grandchildren, Brooklyn Wilkinson, Paul Wilkinson III, Kendahl Lang and Regan Lang.

In the past, Pastor Paul has been engaged in many different capacities with the Eastern District Association, American Baptist Convention of Texas, and Young Men for Christ of the National Baptist Convention of America. Currently, Pastor Paul serves as Moderator to The American Baptist Southwest District Association, Second Vice President to The American Baptist Southwest District Congress of Christian Workers, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Benevolent Board to the American Baptist Convention of Texas.
 
The Lord has allowed Pastor Paul to serve as Pastor of the New Bethel/New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and Coliseum Park Missionary Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas, and founding pastor of The Rock of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Converse, Texas.

Pastor Paul has a passion for the Person of God, for the People of God, and for the Place of God, as he proclaims the WORD of God from the “Church on the Hill, with the Gospel for the Whole World”.
